Maestro Nasrollah Nassehpoor

Maestro Nasrollah Nassehpoor, the recognized master of Persian and Azerbaijani classical vocal music, was born in Ardebil city of Iran, 1940. In his family was familiar with Azerbaijani music, since his father, Agha Shakour, was a garmon player and his mother was a ghaval player.
 
After receving his high school diploma, he moved to Tehran in order to get a good job and because of his love to music, he started learning Persian vocal music from the late maestro Mahmoud Karimi. He also studied instrumental radif repertoire of Persian art music from the late maestro Ali Akbar Khan Shahnazi, the very great and famous tar player.
 
In the class of late maestro Soleiman Amir Ghasemi, he was acquainted with maestro Saeed Hormozi, the very great master of setar.
 
At last he worked with the great master of Persian vocal radif repertoire, the late maestro Abdollah Davami.
 
He has had a broad research about Persian and Azerbaijani classical music and theory of old music of Persia.
